so right now i'm making a mix cd for saturday. because that's what i do on snowdays. so right now it includes such favorites as "bumblebee tuna" and "bohemian rhapsody" "basket case" (green day), and other songs that i think drama kids will enjoy rocking out to (or songs that i just really like). No U2. U2 is a pompous asshole band.

And who is getting you the fucking Breakfast Club by Friday?

I don't know what you ppl listen to. Some of you guys listen to Bob Dylan, Dylan owns. Aside from that most of my favorite bands are not so popular among your crowd.

If you guys want *real* music come to me, the music elitist who listens to anything anyways. Oh.

raining men
the metro
shot through the heart
i'm gonna be (500 miles)
99 red balloons
one way or another
living on a prayer
867-5309
i ran
you spin me right round
i'm so excited
and she was
so long, farewell (it's a crazy ska version of the song from sound of music)
cruel summer
i just died in your arms
jesse's girl
land down under
tubthumping
turning japanese
one week
i'm on my way (by the proclaimers, the same band as i'm gonna be)
bohemian rhapsoday

ok for some reason i just lost half of what i was going to say. so i'll resend this.
i want to also put some other songs on that people will know, like inside out and all for you and i'd like hard to handle by the black crowes but i don't have it. and sure, greg, alanis morrissette. anything else you want that you own and therefore could give me? (i don't download).

oh, and shut up winston, u2 is cool. and the purpose of this music isn't necessarily to admire the wonderful songwriting and musical talent, it's to get people excited and hyper. dylan...wouldn't work so much.

U2 is horrendous. Them and Aerosmith. Dream On is one of the best songs ever written, but that does not mean you are the greatest band in rock in roll. Bono has, several times, proclaimed himself and his band the greatest rock band in the world. Hardly. Just because the media jumps on you dosnt give you the right to be a pompous ass. U2's music is not bad, I'm not a fan, but it is good stuff, at least a lot of it is. The songwriting is still signifigantly above average, which says little, but I admire many of their songs and the Josua Tree as a whole is a classic rock (not classic rock, obv) album. Beautiful Day is a very good song and Bono is obviously one of the great, though hardly the greatest, rock vocalists. The problem is that Bono has lost touch with reality and with rock. U2 is far from the greatest rock band, and even if they were it would be un-rocker and uncool to proclaim it to the world. He has a shitty attitude ( ... )

I do believe you need "Tainted Love". No mix is complete without "Tainted Love". (Now I know I've got to (dun dun) run away, I've got to (dun dun) get away.) Mmm, hot. And Victoria and I both suggest Rusted Root's "Send Me on My Way". Oh! And Pat Benetar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot." And "The Jumper", I think it's by Third Eye Blind. I LOVE that song, but stupid iTunes doesn't have it. Whores.

Not sure who this is, I assume Emma Dill. And I won't listen to the mix either. But Tainted Love is a great song, perhaps the greatest synth-pop song of the eighties. I need to buy Non-Stop Erotic Cabaret, the album.

Who am I to disagree?

I'd still go for Soft Cell, but the Eurythmics are certaintly up there as well.

Not really my field of expertise, for that matter, though.
