My friend Trevor's band THOUSAND FOOT KRUTCH has now signed on with Tooth and Nail Records. It's really weird to see those guys and LUCERIN BLUE putting out records for one of my favourite record labels after having spent countless hours with them at church basement shows and the like when Phruff was still playing. i saw TFK play at a new year's eve show a few years ago. i borrowed one of the bass player's seven middle names for the night - i think it was claude. that's really awesome that they're signed, though.

It's a long way from hanging out in the parking lot at EBC playing hackey-sack...did you ever go to any shows put on by "The Project" at EBC?

Actually, yes - I went to quite a few of those. It was how I met Cheese Monkeys from Planet Nine [it's really too bad they've gone now; they were my favourite Christian group by far] and such.

Yeah, as far as I know all the bands on Tooth and Nail have a Christian connection, unless that policy has changed.

Well, it depends what you mean. "Christian Band" can have a range of meaning. As far as I understand it, each band on Tooth and Nail includes at least one practicing Christian, but bands on the label tend to be pretty laid back and aren't set on imposing their beliefs on others(The Juliana Theory, who put out their early work with T&N has a Jewish member). BEC Recordings, a subsidiary of Tooth and Nail has a bit of a different focus, the bands on that label tend to be "worship bands" etc, and tour dates tend to be at churches instead of clubs.
