ABC summary: Sydney's theory that Sloane is trying to re-form the Alliance threatens her relationship with Nadia, who refuses to believe her father is double-crossing the CIA. Meanwhile, Vaughn learns the first of possibly many startling secrets about his father. Angela Bassett guest stars as CIA Director Hayden Chase.

so i managed to run back from orchestra to catch the last 45 minutes of alias. you should've seen my running down the streets; i broke a sweat in this cold weather. i broke. a sweat.

anyway, i was a bit confused jumping in the middle (as anyone would be), but was i caught up to speed. i liked syd's punk outfit. i don't know what went on with the hair (straws?) but it was really funky. and the jump to the helicopter? nice (with a touch of computer graphics). so syd double-crossed nadia by coaxing sloane into throwing an intimate birthday dinner (with family and weiss! squee!) for nadia. pretty dresses! nadia catches syd in the act of sneaking into sloane's office to get the tranmissions from sloane's secure phone. some bitterness arises. the suspense when syd was putting away the phone! i knew someone was going to come but i didn't expect nadia. i had my money on sloane.

heeey, angela bassett is back and whoa there, take it easy. didn't want her to break a leg running. OOOOH, did you see that flirting between dixon and director chase (angela bassett)? it is getting HOT IN HERE. you could cut the sexual tension with a knife! the whole jack/sloane buddy-buddy thing is a bit weird. the black index thing was pretty nifty, though i have no idea what's on it.

ummm, some obvious advertising for the new ford mustang (which i actually really like because it's gone a bit retro!).

sark wasn't there but vaughn has side plot going on. i'm liking the side plot. i don't know what happened with his uncle (i'll see the whole episode over the weekend), but vaughn gets this key his father left him and the key leads him to a locker at a bus terminal, i think. vaughn opens the locker and there is his father's diary. the entries date to 1982 when his father supposedly died in 1979. dun dun dunnnn. ha, vaughn talking to his uncle in a coma was funny. but is his father really alive? and was vaughn hallucinating that nurse and everything? IS VAUGHN GOING CRAZY?

i think that's what happened pretty much. it was okay.

that's right, ted leo did a cover of kelly clarkson's "since u been gone" because it's one of the most catchy songs out there, i won't lie. he even throws in "maps" by the yeah yeah yeahs. ted leo, you rock my WORLD. ya'll can download it here. by the way, the get up kids broke up.
