Thanks for 5 incredible years...

Series finale: "Reprisal"
We start off with everyone gathering photos of the Prophet Five members:

- Syd's in Sydney (ha)
- Dixon's in Rome
- Marshall's in Bangkok... IN A SUANA (with a t-shirt on): "I got a nasty skin condition... trust me, you do not want to see what's underneath my shirt."
- Tom's in Siberia
- Vaughn's in London
- Jack's in DC

[after gathering all the photos]
Syd: "Now we know who we're fighting."

Sloane peaces out to Prophet Five and decides to go rogue with Sark & Peyton as his gang. That greedy bastard is still as Rambaldi crazed as ever. So, he kidnaps Marshall and Rachel because he needs their help in locating something Rambaldi related. When he kidnapped Marshall, I said, "Oh, hellllll no." Peyton tortures Marshall while Sark tortures Rachel. I should mention that before Rachel was kidnapped, Tom stopped by and they had a little smooch. Teehee.

BUT, the best part is when Marshall stands up for himself! He called Sloane a "weak, pathetic man." YES. That was the best speech from Marshall, and probably his most eloquent. Marshall 1, the World 0.

After that awesome speech, Sloane reverts to using Syd to make Marshall & Rachel do what he wants. Syd's about to drop off Isabel at the babysitter's when Sloane appears. Syd talks to Marshall on the phone and it works. Plus, Marshall leaves a "message" for his wife, Carrie, who's certifiably shaken up by all of this (I mean, she just now finds out that Marshall was working for APO). The message was the name of a children's book (he's been reading to little Mitchell) and Carrie figures out that it has to do with NOAA. As Marshall & Rachel are figuring out the location of whatever it is Sloane is looking for, they send out loads of signals through the network. Carrie eventually tracks them down and finds that they're being held in Ixtapa, Mexico.

The location of what Sloane was looking for was in Italy... Mount Subasio.

Sloane wants Marshall & Rachel eliminated; Sark thinks otherwise (aw! he cares!).

[after Rachel beats up one of Sloane's men]
Marshall: "That was like Empire Strikes Back cool!"

Syd, Dixon, Vaughn, & Tom come to the rescue and all is well.

Syd/Vaughn figure out where Sloane's going and go to Mount Subasio. Vaughn lowers Syd into an icy/snowy cave where she finds Sloane with the amulet. While Sloane's talking to her about her childhood past (he & Emily looked after her when her mom died and Jack was taken into custody), we see that Sark sets off a timer for a bomb in the LA subway. Sloane tells Syd that when she was little she used to save all her stuffed animals from drowning, but alas, as Sloane continues, you can't save everyone. Back at APO, they know something's up and evacuate the subways and everyone in APO. We see Peyton meeting the Prophet Five members and then killing them all. Back in LA, Tom finds the bomb in a subway car and delays the timer as everyone evacuates. He talks to Rachel and tells her that he would have asked her out, and she said that she would have said yes. Tom doesn't leave and sits as the bomb explodes. He dies.

Back in Mount Subasio, the sun shines down and Sloane holds up the amulet. Something's about to happen when he turns to Syd, "Sorry Syd. You weren't meant to see this." He shoots a hole around her and she falls through the ice/snow.

Series Finale: "All the Time in the World"
We're in flashback: a little Syd is sitting in a classroom and she can't decide what she wants to be when she grows up. At home, we see little Syd wandering down the hall at night. She peeks around the corner and sees her dad, Jack, talking to an agent/officer. Her mother was involved in a car accident; she died. Jack tells Syd that you have to be strong for me, and hugs her.

Back in the present, Vaughn finds Syd unconscious and not breathing after the fall. He does CPR and says to Syd, "Come on, you're stronger than that." Syd finally comes to. Meanwhile Sloane, Sark & Peyton get some missiles.

Flashback: Little Syd is looking at photos of her mom. She finds some blocks and puts them together rather quickly. Jack walks in and says, "You did this?" He undos the blocks and tells her to do it again. She does and he says that it's a test to see if people are "gifted."

Syd/Vaughn are in the cabin in Siena, Italy (I think). And here, Syd starts the planning: follow the money. They find Peyton, kidnap her and torture her with her biggest fear: snakes. She has no idea where the missiles are going but knows that Sloane is in Mongolia.

Flashback: Syd's at UCLA and Francie (yay!) joins her outside at the table. She tells her that Charlie (yay!) has tickets to something and he's bringing a friend, Danny. But Syd keeps declining because she wants to go to this career fair. Francie says to do education and be a teacher like her mom. After Francie leaves, a CIA agent approaches her and hands her a card.

In Mongolia, we see Sloane digging in what I think is Rambaldi's tomb. Oh, I should mention he got that Rambaldi artifact, that glass ball thing. So he, alone, goes in and places that glass ball between the <> so it looks like < o >. A large red liquid ball forms above it and starts dripping red liquid into the glass ball. Syd comes and points the gun at Sloane. She grabs the glass ball, now filled with red liquid, and the large red liquid ball above it falls apart. She asks what it is but Sloane keeps telling her to give it to him, etc. Then the Jack, Vaughn, and Sark join the party in the tomb.

[after realizing he's outnumbered]
Sark: "Well, this is quite a predicament."

When Syd keeps refusing to give up the red ball, Sloane SHOOTS JACK. MULTIPLE TIMES. Syd drops the ball and rushes to Jack. She looks over and SHOOTS SLOANE. MULTIPLE TIMES. Sloane falls into the red liquid near the tomb. Sark grabs the glass ball and gets outta there.

Flashback: Syd comes home and gives Jack an envelope filled with some money. She says it's only fair because he's paying her tuition. She tells him she got a job at a bank, Credit Dauphine (man! remember that? first season, kids! SD-6 madness!). Immediately Jack tells her to quit because, obviously, he knows it's CIA. They argue; Syd says she's really good at what she does. Eventually, the fight ends with Syd storming out, crying.

BUT JACK. WOUNDED. SHOT. MULTIPLE TIMES. Syd/Vaughn carry him outside. Very sad/tender moment between Syd & Jack. She's crying and I'm trying to keep it together. Jack says that he never wanted to her to have this life but she was so stubborn and they have a laugh. We find out that IRINA IS BEHIND ALL OF THIS. She's in Hong Kong where Sark meets her and gives her the artifact. Jack tells Syd to go and fight her mother, that the medical team will be here soon. Teary, oh so teary. As Syd gets in the car, Jack manages to stand up and nod goodbye. After Syd/Vaughn leave, Jack drops to the ground...

Meanwhile, IRINA tells Sark to initiate the missile launch on Washington, DC and London.

Flashback: Syd comes into Sloane's office at SD-6. Sloane tells her that he's going to promote her to field agent, and that it's going to be a difficult job--decisions will have to be made. Syd acknowledges this and says she's up for the challenge.

Syd finds Irina and man, oh man. Major fight happens. Remember that Rambaldi prophecy from a while back? Something like the two will meet but only one will survive? I think this was really it. They fight and Irina ends up on a glass window. It's cracking as Syd says to grab her hand. But Irina is reaching for the glass ball (very Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, right?). The window breaks as IRINA falls to her death. Syd survives.

Meanwhile Vaughn beats up Sark and asks for the codes to stop the missile launch. Vaughn shoots Sark in the leg and LOL, Sark says, "YOU SHOT ME!" You know what I was thinking? Speed. LOL. I thought that was hee-larious. The missile launch is stopped and Vaughn goes up to where Syd is and hugs her.

Back in Mongolia, we see that Sloane is, in fact, NOT dead because that pool of red liquid he fell into healed him. Immortal. Can live forever. So Rambaldi was right after all. Sloane tells his ever present ghost daughter, Nadia that he's got "all the time in the world." All sudden Jack appears and he is very much ALIVE. He's got dynamite and pretty much says, "No fucking way man. You are NOT leaving this place." And blows up the dynamite, causing the tomb to close up. When Sloane comes to, he's pinned underneath a huge rock from the explosion. Nadia appears again and Sloanes tells her he can't move. Nadia smiles and pretty much says, "This is what you get for being greedy and evil. So you get immortality but you have to live in this place forever. Mwhahaha."

IN YOUR FACE, SLOANE. IN YOUR FACE. He got served.

Now we're on a beach and it's Santa Barbara, I'm pretty sure (maybe not but I'd like to think it's Santa Barbara). We see a little Isabel (like little Syd) playing in the sand. She yells, "Daddy! Look! It's Uncle Dixon!" We see Dixon walking up and Vaughn comes out of the house. Syd appears with another baby, a baby boy who they named Jack. Dixon says Marshall would've came but Carrie needs bedrest. She's got another baby boy coming--making it FOUR little Flinkmans. Wow. Anyway, Dixon tells Syd/Vaughn about a job which has some sentimental value: it involves Sark. They smile but say, "Let's talk about this after dinner." Isabel is in her room unpacking her toys when she finds the same blocks little Syd found. Isabel puts them together rather quickly as well but knocks them over afterwards. She runs to Syd, waiting for her by the door.

And they all walk off together...

----------

Whew! I'll say. That was something, right? 5 years, 5 seasons. Amazing. I still love the pilot episode. That rocked my world. The red wig. That's what started it all. Everything! Despite it's ups and downs, it was good ride. Now it's all gone... feels kind of weird, oddly enough. No more spy drama! Or dysfuntional relationships or some seriously twisted plotlines (oh, JJ).

Boy Scout, Mountaineer...

Signing off.

Peace out, Alias.

Bye, Syd.
