It feels like this place is beginning to feel like my home. It took a fair bit of time to buy all the things I needed, especially since it's kind of difficult to do a lot of grocery shopping.

That is a good plan! Though I don't like not being able to browse like I would in a physical store, but it's not something I can do often, especially without a car here.

I love my browsing too, but it is handy for stocking up on heavy things you have a pattern for, like milk and juice and drinks.

We also do the Woolies online shopping and I love it. I thought I'd miss the browsing, but they have a section for specials (and highlight price reductions in red) and you can list products in order of price, brand, etc. Because I can so easily see all the specials and take my time reading through the lists of products, I've actually found myself trying lots of new things.

Of course, none of this pleases me as much as the fact that I no longer have to drag 7kg bags of cat litter home :D.

Congrats, sounds full of awesome. Would be a pretty good neighbourhood if not for the lack of supermarket.

Personally, the thrill of cooking for myself never wears off. It's great creating something no matter how simple, really. But cleaning up after I've done it? That gets old fast.

I actually like cleaning up! I do a little bit every day, hopefully I can keep that up. Cooking is a bit more difficult to find motivation for, unless I'm baking brownies or something.
