I never bothered to read the book, because I saw the movie as a kid and thought it was so awful. You've really made it sound interesting, so I'm going to see if the library has it in stock tomorrow.

Isn't this what LJ is for though? Massive rants about stuff that makes you mad? I know that's what it use it for other than RPing. I had a big rant about gay marriage and prop 8 last week.

Arrrg that movie. The damn director didn't even read the book. He had an agenda and he set out to make a film with that regardless of what the book was originally about. There is a very special place in Hell waiting for Paul Verhoven.

Why do people even bother making movies if they don't read the book? Money I suppose. That's why people always say "the book was better"

and why bother with an agenda with a pre-made story? couldn't he have proved it better with an original story? Maybe he's just an unoriginal jackass.

Just imagine the horrors of a live action Hellsing. Especially if they made it here in the US. They'd probably pick some dumb bitch like Jessica Simpson to play Seras just because of her breasts being almost the right size. And then try to turn Integra into a lesbian. I hope Hellsing never gets that popular over here. I'm going to (maybe) see the Dragonball Z movie for the lulz, but I'd hate for them to actually make a movie out of a series I love.
