I'm doing a live commentary again, because I'm cool like that xD. I'm hoping that there will be more action from Ianto in this episode, because he was woefully underused yesterday (although that seems to be the story on screen as well). Some hints at Jack/Ianto goodness would be appreciated as well. Woo, only 15 minutes to wait until it's on now *sit patiently*
- YAY IANTO'S THE FIRST TO SPEAK!
- Ooh look everyone, Jack's old.
- Hah, Jack, this is Torchwood. No jokes.
- I love the Torchwood theme music. Have I mentioned that recently? Because I really do.
- Why are they in Delhi? Torchwood is a British institution. They only went to the Himalayas because the PM was actually the Master controlling everyone with the Archangel thing and he wanted them out the way, and they went to Switzerland on Martha's request. I wouldn't have thought that India falls under Torchwood's jurisdiction. Huh, oh well.
- What does Gwen think? Delhi's going to be completely deserted?
- Plus...I doubt they necessarily speak English. The fire alarm is a better idea, yay for Ianto.
- Oh yes, another reminder that Jack's old. And been here before.
- Ooh, scary music xD
- Torchwood India. Huh. I guess that makes sense, since Victoria was Empress of India and everything. And TW1 was all about the Empire.
- Haha, Gwen/Ianto. "Old flame?" "Uh-huh."
- What's with Jack's exes wanting to kill him?
- That's the third line that's been pretty much the same within a few minutes. I'm sure it's for artistic effect or whatever, but it just sounds like someone couldn't think of another line. Or I've got really bad déjà vu.
- "Would I lie to you?...Again?"
- Jack and Ianto on the chaise. xD
- "Do you mind if I have a coffee?" Oh yes, Ianto needs his coffee.
- I really don't like Eleanor. >.<
- Gwen shouldn't be shocked about "you're a hundred but you look 20". She works with Jack, for crying out loud. The man's over two thousand.
- "I was only obeying orders." "Since when do you obey orders?" "Shh!" ahahaha xD
- Jack and his dance records. xD What was he doing with 'yes, we have no bananas', though?
- SOMEONE MENTIONED IANTO'S SUIT!!
- George is a snob. And chauvinist. One of the few times I really like Gwen being so forceful. Apparently George has also come from the twenties or something.
- "Assisant" "No doubt."
- "We're not looking for alien cutlery, Mr Gissing."
- Oh dear. I now have an image of onion scented bombs. Not good. Maybe they'd be like the onion flowers Spike likes so much in Buffy.
- Yup. Knew he was old too.
- "We've got to tell Jack." "He's going to feel a lot less special." Poor Jack. Not the only one anymore.
- Oh, surprise surprise. They kept some. Quelle suprise
- Ooh, I wasn't expecting the chlorophorm. Woo, the first thing that's not been completely predictable so far.
- I really like Gwen and Ianto. They make a good team. :D
- Shadows are moving! Vashta Nerada!
- Yay, angry Jack.
- People. Yeah, I kind of guessed that too once it became clear Eleanor was the reason for the time thingummy.
- "When it goes off, I think we'll die." "Right...try the door?"
- "If I wanted to be locked out and murdered, I would've stayed at home!" Because yup, Ianto gets taken hostage a lot. He seems to be susceptible to those kinds of things. It was him that got attacked by the ghost things in Lost Souls too.
- Haha Jack's pouting.
- What is it with people wanting to change the Earth? Time travel, moving the planet, turning back the clock...it's a really reoccuring theme.
- "They'll never have existed, so I'll never have killed them." Spoken like a true murderer, ma'am.
- "You're not human." "But I'm still British." XD
- He's surprised that she's going to kill him, really?
- And that's the second time that Jack's given his excess life. Hopefully he won't die for a long time this time.
- "I really think we should run."
- Why's he even bothering trying to save her?
- 2009. It's 2010 in Torchwood-land, damnit.
- THE END.
So, in general it was really predictable and pretty dull. Ianto had a much bigger part to play in it which I'm really pleased about, and the Gwen/Ianto scenes were pretty much the best thing about it. I hated Eleanor (although I think you were supposed to), but meh. Yesterday's one was better.
