a drum circle and an apothecary

Last night I went to this drum circle held by a friend of mine and I had never been to one before and was imagining topless pagan lezzies dancing around the fire, but no drumming actually took place (this time) and instead we ate sushi and hummus and lemon cake and drank strong chicory coffee and talked. Back in the day, wasn't an apothecary a pharmacist? So in today's world, what's the difference? I'm assuming the apothecary is more, nature-friendly, more homeopathic and such?

yeah, from what I gather, apothecaries today, or at least in my friends case, deal with herbal medicine and such, though if there's a serious problem, she recommends going to an actual physician. A lot of stuff was passed down from her grandmother.

I love it; it's really, really strong, but not too bitter, and it has a richer taste.
