People see it as a time to deprive oneself of one thing or another as a way to prove ones devotion to God.

The thing is, our relationship with God is meant to be intimate and personal.

Yes. It's not about giving something up, but changing our lifestyle to become closer to God. It's not a "lazy" way out but how you feel you can better your life.

I wasn't even a holy day Christian for the longest time. I only started going back to church summer 2009. And you know what brought me back?
