The only art where the Jewish can puppeteer using purse strings. you should she the shit that DOESN'T make it, like Dollypop, Lestat: the Musical, and Annie 2: Miss Hannigan's Revenge.

"The first attempt at a sequel, Annie 2: Miss Hannigan's Revenge, opened at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. in December 1989 to universally disastrous reviews. Extensive reworking of the script and score proved futile, and the project was aborted before reaching Broadway. In 1993, a second attempt (with a completely different plot and score), entitled Annie Warbucks, opened at the off-Broadway Variety Arts Theatre, where it ran for 200 performances."

I dont think there was much promise in this show, I mean, whats the act 1 finale? "the sun came out sometime this morning?" it lacks effect.

And while a girl living in a mansion with every amenity singing a revised version of "a hard knock life" is incredibly relevant to modern teens, some felt it was less than appropriate for a fun filled evening.

I missed that one. I was too busy reading about Sutton Foster starring in "Shrek, the Musical".

Dude, I fricken remember that movie! I used to watch it with my baby brother all the time! I had the damn movie memorized! (This was when I was 8 years old and idiotic and obsessed with anything that could fly through space and shoot you. Plus, the part where the mom goes to talk to the kid and there's a fricken alien in his bed, that scared the crap out of me. And I LOVED having the crap scared out of me.)

The article about the musical is really amusing. In the "Wow, my brain hurts" kind of way. Really though, this idea is such a risk, it's either gonna flourish because it breaks convention sooooo darn much, fail miserably because it sounds like an acid trip set to music, or both: fail miserably but have a HUGE cult following. My guess is the latter.
