The problem with writing over the summer

The thing about trying to write over the summer is that you have too much free time to think and re-think the ideas that you are putting down on paper. For further explanation here is an example ( Read more... )

The thought of writing a story about a song came across. And I was like, hey, maybe that'd be really cool. Like, take a song, and write a story based on the meaning of that song. Or something. I don't know, trying to make ideas.

Don't think so hard, it's summer! Good ideas will come along if you don't force em. Really :P <33 Christine

Thanks. That's a good idea. I just might have to name a character after you.

Brittaney

Oooh, working on your novel are we? Fun fun. You were going to write about love hmm? Would your book cover have some shirtless man who looked like John Redcorn from King of the Hill? Hmmm? Nah I'm just kidding. If you wrote a love story, it'd be cool, just cuz you wrote it. Writing it would be frustrating probably what with the topic at hand, but interesting none the less. Good luck to ya, whatever you decide to write about. The story about a song idea sounds pretty cool too. But whatever you write about, I'm sure it will turn out fine whether it be a thriller full of monsters or a short touching story on love. By the way, I still expect a signed nice copy once it's done.

I think I'm having writer's block. Is that possible after only a few days of writing? I'm not sure what to write about. Mostly it's just been about personal experiences but minor alterations. But I don't know if that's really working for me. Oh well. I've got a while, so no point rushing it. And you will definitely get that signed copy. It'll be pretty worthless, but it's yours.

this has nothing to do w/ your post, but I saw mrs. richardson in a store at the mall today. I didn't talk to her for some reason (i was really tired and didn't feel like it) but I should have. Oh well. just letting ya know she's here, if you didn't know already.

Hey Brittaney,
I'm sure anything you write will be really good. You should get together with Mrs.Richardson and ask her for ideas. I'm not creative so I can't help but good luck.
Ciao,

Hey, not all summer writing is totally bad. Remember that story I started like 4 years ago during the summer (I won't tell you the name, but you'll remember if you think about it)? I kept up with that and I've made many many revisions... now 18 pages and 7 chapters later (typed on the computer I must add), it really keeps me entertained when I go back and re-read it! It is really stupid but it's something I've written and I always come up with something new every time I read it! :D It doesn't always have to be a "once upon a time" story; that's how you make things your own! ;) Love you....
