"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. *War does not determine who is right--war determines who is left*

(My thoughts on war)

I am curious though, seeing as how U have been over there....do u get time off or are u working pretty much 24/7? The reason I ask is I was listening to the radio when they were talking about Bush taking 5 week vacations a couple times every few months, and yet our servicepeople are fighting a war. It got me to thinking and I was curious.

When I was over there I worked 12hrs. shift 7days a wk. with a 24/7 tempo going. And that's pretty much an expected thing....We're called "serviceman" the key word would be service....We have sworn to "Serve and Defend" our country....Doesn't seem fair to most people, but that's part of the package.

Wow--I wasnt sure how it was scheduled--and like I said I was curious. I guess as for my opinion on was itself, regardless of who the president is or the reasons for war, or with whom we are fighting, I have never agreed with fighting a war. It seems senseless to me to kill hundreds of thousands of people and destroy land, etc when there has to be a way for us all to get along and live peacefully. All politics aside, thats my opinion. However, I dont have any ill feelings for servicemen. In fact, my heart goes out to them all for doing what they believe is the right thing to do.... especially with the knowledge that some of them are not coming back home alive or in one piece. I understand that *freedom isnt free*, but I just--I dont know. I respect those who are willing to fight--I know in my heart I cant do it. If that makes any sense????
