He was stretched out on the ground, having arrived a bit early and collapsing after a long run. Babysitting Hera while Leoben helped Sharon pull it together was not his idea of a great day, and he mostly wanted to just stay there, stare at the sky, maybe not move for a few hours.
Except there were a few things that demanded his entire attention, and water dancing was one of them. Well, it would be if he could stop his legs from feeling every second of his thirty-eight years.

She tossed one of the training swords at John's reposed figure.
Because while there were some lessons Syrio hadn't been able to teach her - he hadn't had long enough, and she felt that more and more - she was certain proper water dancing involved being able to deal with weighted sticks suddenly flying at you.

"You know, if I get another knock on the head I'm pretty sure Carson will ground me from playing with the cool kids," John said in Arya's general direction as he got back up onto unsteady legs. It took a few moments for his body to fall out of fight or flight mode; when it did, he ran a hand over his hair and bent over to pick the sword up.
