Seifer was outside his hut, doing some gun-blade drills, when he heard the horse approaching and turned to greet his visitor with a smile.

"How you doing, waterdancer?"

She wished she didn't like being called that. It didn't make it harder -- she'd made up her mind -- but it didn't exactly make it easier, either.

Still, it didn't change a thing.

"Same as ever," she said, sliding easily off the back of her horse, turning to fish in the saddlebag. "You?"

"Fighting fit," he replied with a laugh as he holstered his weapon and closed the distance between them. "Ready to leave you in the dust come Barnes' next lesson."

"Keep dreaming," she said, shooting him an amused look over her shoulder. I rule my face, it does not rule me. The other expressions she might have otherwise shown, she kept locked down and under control. "It'll never happen. Hey, your world has electrical stuff in it, right?" As well you know. "I found something and I don't know what it is."
