EEE *flails* This fleshed out the layers in that episode and added more all at the same time!

Did not know "The Bells of St John" came from that nursery rhyme -- that is awesome! And the missing year -- didn't notice that either!

ETA: I linked this here, btw, all cheekily without asking first.

Thank you so much! I really love hearing that people enjoy it.

After watching ep 2 i'm also leaning towards "Clara is a trap" at the moment, and I'm writing about it in my metafor ep 2, there are a few things now that are worrying about her.

Yeah, the dark library mirror is definitely there for sure - i'm open minded about River's fate, on one side it was as close to a Timelord afterlife he could give her and was intended - in the ep - to be a good thing. However, since we have come to know her, it makes me wonder how much it eats at him that she is trapped there.

Thank yo so much for your kind words and such a lovely comment!

You're welcome! Metas are so delicious to read.

With all the things Moffat has been throwing at us about the duality in her character, Clara cannot be a harmless companion. It's probably unwillingly, but her previous iterations have been a dalek AND a castaway, a nanny AND a barmaid, so this one will be 'just a girl' AND ... Spoilers, I guess.

Completely agree with you, though I enjoy the tragedy of her being trapped there. I recognise it's probably unintentional on Moffat's part since he couldn't be sure at the time of season 4 River would be returning. The River we've come to know would hate her life in the computer.

Do you mind if I friend you? I am really interested in your metas and since more and more meta writers are coming to my attention, I would like to keep track.

Between this and last night's episode, I wonder if the Doctor's emotional journey this half-year is going to be around becoming a worshipper rather than that which is worshipped. It's a great point - after last nights ep it's been something I was thinking about myself, as it bery much links in with the idea of mine that you quoted. It's like he walks before her nad clears the way for her to be amazing, for her to produce the real magic ( ... )

Hiya - I hope you don't mind me jumping in on this comment? I am a complete metaholic and really liked what you said about the Etz Chaim symbol in Judaism. This is something I've been thinking about too, but haven't really formulated any coherent thoughts. I'm just interested in the way the Tree of Life is associated with Wisdom, and specifically with the Torah, ie. a Book: It is a Tree of Life to those who cling to it and those who support it are blessed. The Book is a Tree, and the Tree gives Life, which definitely applies to both Clara and River - their lives begin with leaves, and are contained in books, and.....I've completely lost my train of thought and can no longer remember where I was going to go with this. But anyway. Tree of Life. Yes.
