I watched the Harry Potter movie! I thought it was good. And so hilarious.
This is mostly for Orange, for she shares the same tastes.
Shoujo Manga
Kimi ni Todoke is the first manga I rec, if only because I cried and it was so touching and iyaaaaan. It's about a girl who has a scary look, and people don't understand her--except for one boy, who watches her. Iyan so adorable. Incomplete, but only 16 chapters!
Ai No Tame Ni is a title in Japanese, therefore I don't understand it. But the first story in there is so adorable! read it read it read it and the artwork is pretty. I like the first and third story the best, and they're very short!
Nanairo Sekai is a must read, for at least the first story. The other three stories are all right, but the first one, which is only a chapter long, is so so so so so so so adorable. It's from alternatively points of view from a girl and a guy, who are just so sweet and call each other dense. It's called "The Glasses Thief" and did i mention it is adorable and short and you should read it?
...
I don't know exactly what this is but I apparently bookmarked it, and I have to admit, for a shoujo manga, this page fulfills my shonen ai desires.
Guys After Marriage is a short one-shot with pretty art, and a pretty hilarious story for so few pages. It's about a couple after marriage, and they are adorable.
Ane Mone Seikaten is a shoujo manga about a high school girl who looks like an elementary student and an elementary student who looks like a high school student. It's a one-shot, and it is adorable. It also has great lines like "when i tilt my face this way, it looks like a pleasing smile." Oho.
Kon no Ki Konoha is a sad one-shot story that will make you cry. don't you love me
And here are just some that I bookmarked for some reason. They're all one-shots, but I won't feel disappointed if you don't read them. In fact, this should be Low Priority, but if you need a quick shoujo shot pick-me-up!
Hug is about a girl who thinks the guy looks like a dog, and I think I liked it because it was pretty adorable.
Kawaiitte Itteyo is where I like the first story the best, because the girl was just so upfront, and the artwork was pretty. The first story is about a girl learning about how to deal in a relationship to a guy she accidentally texted.
Harumachi Platform is a one-shot about a girl and a guy at a train station.
Haikei Nanashi Sama is a love letter type of story, which is pretty cute, but the guy is in such denial. so adorable.
Suki Nan Desu is where the girl asks the guy to keep their relationship a secret, and though it rolls like a typical shoujo manga, the ending made me laugh.
Okosama Brat is where the most adorable part is probably the premise, where the girl thought the boy was her little brother because he stayed so long at their place.
Longer Shoujo Series
High School Debut is by the same mangaka as above, but this one is a long series. But I think it's a very adorable read. The premise is fairly interesting, and the couple is so adorable. I like the female protagonist. She's very gung-ho, and so enthusiastic. It manages to avoid some tricky traps of other shoujo manga, and continues to be very entertaining! For the first part, it's about a girl who wants to attract guys, and a coach who doesn't want to fall in love. I also like how the guy always looks like he never has enough sleep. And it's complete! But it's pretty long.
Special A is by the same mangaka, and it's a long series. 99 chapters! But it's not bad. I like the female protagonist, and it doesn't give me as much misogynist vibes as I thought. In fact, the female protagonist is pretty adorable and gung-ho, while the guy is so completely smitten and adorable in that he couldn't even hide it. But it's very long iyaaaaan.
I think
Skip Beat! has been rec'd a lot, but it's notable because ahhh the parts where Kyoko acts are just so amazing. See Ponko for more de-tails.
Shonen Ai
A short one-shot about two boys who are friends. But it's adorable.
Seven Days - Monday → Thursday is an incomplete manga, but you can tell it's going to be good. The art is very laidback, and there's just style and charisma from this manga.
Soshite Koi Ga Hajimaru is pretty unique because the main character is a guy who's nice to everybody. It's based off a light novel, but the manga has pretty art, and it's very stylish.
This has both shoujo and shonen ai in it, a volume of stories, but overall, it's pretty awesome and it has cool artwork.
This is by the same mangaka as the two above, but this one is short, and it's just about youth nowadays, get off my lawn, etc. It's touching, in a way. But not in that way. Until you reach the second chapter. In which case, yeah, it's touching that way.
Psycho Pandas is a scanslating group and they do pretty cool stuff. If you want some more shonen ai, they have some in there, and you can look around yourself ohohohohoho.
Games
The Asylum: Psychiatric Help for Abused Cuddly Toys is a longer games than most I recommend, but really, it's so worthwhile. Check it out! It asks you to help these stuffed animals get over their fears and traumas, and you're the psychiatrist. The stuffed animals are adorable, and if you're interested in psychiatry, this game provides lots of methods to do so. Also, if you click the help button on your clipboard, it gives you hints in heavily psychiatric lingo. Don't be afraid to use a walkthrough! But this game really is adorable. They've even added two more stuffed animals since the last time I played, kufufufufu.
Pandadventures is a short game about a panda who wants to find his friend on Bamboo Island. It's pretty cute, and it has very clean graphics, and it has a walkthrough online somewhere. Win win yeah?
Grow is a very famous game. Comments have included "I remember playing this game when I was supposed to be studying for my midterms/doing my homework/being productive", which is all good and well because these games are cute. You have to click the things in the order to get a certain solution. Don't feel bad about using a walkthrough, because the ending is so awesome. Click on some of the other games on the left side! Grow is pretty awesome.
Orsinol has a lot of adorable games. And by adorable, I certainly do mean adorable. Try some out! The graphics have a lot of thought put into them, and the style is very comfortable and soft. The games are pretty hard, though.
Fishing Girl is a game where you literally have to reel your man in. But adorable graphics, really cute.
Don't feel bad if you lose this game, Get to the Finish is challenging and demanding.
You Have To Burn the Rope is a challenging RPG-like game, where you have to transverse through corridors to get to the boss at the end, the Grinning Colossus. Don't feel bad if you have to use a walkthrough. You can also Youtube the walkthrough, too. The song at the end is worth it!
This site has a lot of games that are more for thinking. The guy did a game a day for 219 days or something, and a lot of them are thought-provoking, which I thought you'd like. Click on the Archived Journal link at the bottom of the page (once you click a game) to see what's the game supposed to about. This includes difficult games like
Candy, the depressing
Do As Told, the creepy
Empty (you have to click for a little while), and interactive games such as
Warmer, which grows warmer in color when you really do get "warmer," and
Amor, what is love.
Other Manga
My Girl is an interesting manga, and it's very thoughtful and sweet. It's like Clannad, in manga form, about a single father raising a daughter on his own.
Bungaku Shoujo is about a girl who eats literature, but what's interesting is how there's a mysterious air around the characters. The boy was wrote a bestseller under a pen name, and felt crushed afterwards through a series of events, the last at which hinted at a suicide of a girl that he liked. And thorugh it all, there is a narrator who doesn't quite fit in, who doesn't seem to feel the same human emotions. There are some spoilers on the discussion forum that makes it that much more interesting, but in the meanwhile, it's incomplete. But there's an anime coming out! perhaps. It's based on a light novel.
Karneval is a series that reminds me of something Orange rec'd me a long time ago. But it's very stylish. It gives me Kuroshitsuji and Pandora Hearts vibes, though it's overall more like some other series, which I don't remember. But the art is pretty!
Other
This is James Blunt, on Sesame Street, singing an adjustment of his song "You're Beautiful." It's called "Triangle," and it is something else.
This and
this site has a lot of online sound effects. The top four are the instant rimshot, the sad trombone, instant crickets, and the emergency yodel. Don't leave home without your emergency yodel.
I've linked to this before, but
100_fairytales is a pretty inspirational writing prompt comm, and I want to see what people write from this!
Scroll down to meet your new nightmares, courtesy from the Ace Attorney crew. There are some light spoilers about future villains, though, so ask someone to check for you first!
If you've played Ace Attorney and know who Klavier is,
this is Klavier as a Pikachu. This is another kink meme prompt, but it has the most IC Edgeworth ever.
