This girl at work that I was interested in was eating lunch with another coworker upstairs, and I sat at the next table, she asked me to join them.... so I did

Sex, dating, and work can be problems with any orientation and can make for a real bad case of work politics. She's painting with a wide brush where Bi, Gay, or Straight could been interchanged to no effect really. Beatings and molestation are not an orientation.

In an ideal world your gender, race, religion, or personal preferences would be treated as unknowns in the workplace. They have nothing to do with the quality of your work or how beings should treat each other on the job. Sadly office politics and prejudice leak into the job-site and even if everyone there was ok now, one or two rollovers of a job would find a real mean spirited asshole or someone like this lady where heavy emotional scars distort the reality of any situation.

Anyway, my general opinion is not to hit on co-workers.

Eh, I'm over it... chasing folks at work is prolly a very bad idea anyway, I know better than this. Time to work on stuff here at home and fix up my little patch of the world....
