Makes sense. You live in a pretty major city, and you're going to be harder on brakes there than you would be elsewhere. I tend to anticipate lights and other people, because I have to. With as little engine power as the Escort has (and a large portion of that sapped when running the compressor) it takes a solid 30 seconds to accelerate from a light to 45MPH without stressing the engine. It's a hell of a lot easier to drift down to 20 and go through a light just as it goes green. Better for fuel consumption numbers, too.
It just has to eke by one more month. That's kind of become my mantra of the moment. Then I'll have a "new" car, and if not no problems, then at least a NEW set of things to be paranoid about.
