I'm so happy that Obama won!  People in my area are so excited, and its really great to see everyone so happy and hopeful.  I think some people are still crying with joy.  The lines at the polls were crazy all day.  We went over at about 1:30 and the lines were running through the parking lot.  We got to bypass the lines because Mom is disabled and

It was really amazing in London too! People were actually smiling on the tube at rush hour!! Incredible, ha? How are things a week into the election? What is the general atmosphere? Hugs, Sa' xx

People were actually smiling on the tube? That is amazing! I think the initial excitement has died down, but everyone is still more hopeful about the future than they were. The newspaper from the day after the election had to print more copies since everyone was collecting it. Also, all of the hotels in Washington D.C are already booked for the Inauguration. People are looking into renting cabins and campsites. Some are offering up to $10,000 to sublet a house in the area, in order to attend. It's getting kind of crazy.
