Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow were the only books in the series I read- I am usually a cold literary elitist, but I broke my no-sci-fi rule because I was the only one who hadn't read those books. They were "Good...for pop books." But tell me- how was Shadow of the Hegemon?
I suppose I'm biased because I found the story very well-written and engaging in EVERY book of the series. They're all good. I tend to not pay much attention to people that look down on novels because they're popular - today's pop, tomorrow's classics? There is a lot of pop-culture that is very bad (J-Lo), but a great book is a great book is a great book, no matter how much it sells. All subjective in the end, anyway ;) Glad you liked them.
Very true. It isn't a matter of popularity (such as the New York Times Best Seller List) though- that is not what I mean by "pop" book. By pop book, I mean speculative fiction, detective and romance novels.
