character relationships.

Garrus Vakarian. The first person he met at the keep, Chase has only seen him once, and even then only via the journals; he's only spoken to him in pitch blackness. Garrus seems like a relatively well-trained soldier - a little futuristic, and therefore likely dependent on guns, but worth speaking to further if only because of his non-humanity.

Garrett Hawke. A medieval warrior and doubtless a Hero. Titled 'Champion' and confident in his fighting skills, and thus a potential for corruption and manipulation, he seems refreshingly willing to take the idiocy of humankind as it is and mock the standards for heroism. Nonetheless, he's a strident force for Good - and therefore a potential enemy.

Megamind. A blatant Villain with a capital V. Not subtle, focused on machinery, and intent on making elaborate Evil Plans constantly. Likely a scientist, what with his doubt of magic and intent to create robot chickens to take over the keep. Arrogant, calculating, and apparently a consistent failure ... Chase is fairly sure he's heard this all before.

Nepeta Leijon. A strange girl calling herself a troll, and he at least doesn't doubt that she's not human. She's a huntress and doesn't seem to care whether or not someone sees her bloody from the kill, and she looks enough like a cat with those eyes and ... horns that he's willing to give her a second thought as someone to befriend.

Coen Dos, the stablemaster. Not quite human, but close enough that he falls in the category for now. An expert on all his animals and ostensibly someone to inquire further about when it comes to discussing those sharp-toothed deer in the forest. A little too quick to smile and take things less seriously than Chase would like them to be taken, but then again, Chase is srs bsns all the time.

Isabel Galstone, the chatelaine. A sharp woman who apparently runs the place in the apparent absence of Lord Deior. Asked the guests to hunt down a giant spider to find a stolen key before she was willing to get rid of the infestation, which can only bode dark things in his eyes. Why would she need a key that badly? And why would a giant spider take it in the first place?

Moonie Ortrun Brandt. Though he doesn't know her name yet, she told him she was a dragon, and given the arrogance, pride, and expectation that everything will comply with her, he doesn't doubt it. Obviously, she bodes further investigation - if he can flatter and indulge her enough, or earn her respect, he'll have a source of eternal youth for quite some time to come.

Sollux Captor. Another troll and communicates almost solely in a writing style that gives Chase pause. A touch sarcastic and a little snide, the most interesting part is that he seems to have issues with friendship - maybe he doesn't have it and wants it but won't admit it, maybe he's been kicked by it in the past. Regardless, it's a sore point for him, and Chase is curious to see just how much it hurts.
