Go to the drug store and get some Systane eye drops [or ask doc for free samples]. Throw away current pair of contacts and try a fresh pair. Put two drops in each eye, wait at least 5 min before putting contacts in, to let it get in your cornea or whatever the frig. See if that helps.
[putting drops in with contacts in is a waste, because they're essentially sponges and will soak up anything, and if something irritating is in the current pair now, it won't go away - even after 24 or 48 hours, the sponge effect keeps bad shit in there forerver, so that's why i say try a new pair.]
i had pink eye last year..i don't think thats it..i know you can get it in one eye but it's very contagious and would've spread to the other by now. it's been red for like 4 or 5 days. plus, no crustiness or itching.
and usually having no contacts in for a couple days will allow the redness to fade if it's caused by general lens discomfort. if it's not better in the morn, i'm gonna drop by the doc after work
