This was a lovely entry, Heidi! The photos are simply breathtaking...the size of the whale shark are amazing when you see a human next to them! What an incredible experience!!!
I read this while watching a documentary on blue whales, so it was interesting to be watching them tag whales, then see the tags on the whale shark....
Anyway...I think it might be time for you to look into a better underwater camera? You do enough dives......
I'm amazed at how un-phased they are of the divers. I would have thought all of the human activity would have made them move on...but, I guess even whale shark can become used to people...makes me sick that any ol' tourist can jump in the water and grab them, though... So glad you dive with respectable people who don't see congregations like this as a petting zoo.
Thank you! The pictures are awesome! I am in awe of you and the whole group. And of course the pictures. You do things I could never imagine doing myself (for one thing, I get frightened by animals of any kinds, sizes and shapes).
When you win that Indonesia-trip, make a beeline over here, kay?! :)
How many times have I written "Trip of a lifetime!" as a comment at the end of one of your journal entries. You have been truly blessed to be able to experience these unique and awesome events, in the company of such enthusiastic and knowledgeable friends, at some of the world's most exotic locations. Your Mom and I are proud of your accomplishments and zest for life, just as we are proud of Heather's expertise with one of the world's largest bear populations, and Pat's gift to us of two marvelous granddaughters. We are content to just sit back and watch you three roam the planet.
