"I've decided I don't like poetry anymore," Thomasina declares.
"Oh, have you?" asks Septimus. "I'm sure Lord Byron will be most disappointed to hear it."
Thomasina flushes, as Septimus predicted she would. "Well, of course his is still acceptable."
"Of course," Septimus agrees. "And might I ask what crime poetry has committed to turn you against it?"
"I can't write it."
"You can't hunt, but you seem to have no objections to eating the catch."
"I'm not supposed to be able to hunt."
"And you are supposed to be able to write poetry?"
"Yes! You are not being helpful about this, Septimus."
"My lady, I am not concerned that you do not wish to write poetry. Indeed, if you did wish to write poetry, I would have to be very worried. I would much prefer you keep your focus on other pursuits
