I feel out of sorts today (what else is new??). Shaky and a bit nauseaus. I should eat something, but am afraid of pukage...I think I'll go into town instead and maybe get myself a wintercoat. Feels as if I'll need it soon enough ( Read more... )

I'd be worried about that too! :p But they shouldn't have to. My dad got a big cut on his upper lip years ago, and he has a pretty thick mustache. They didn't need to shave it off to give him stitches. Then this past winter, he had a big cluster of lumps yanked out of his chest and they didn't have to shave his chest:p I've heard of others getting stuff like that done on their heads, and no head shaving was required:)

hope you feel better and ate something. soup is good.

my dad had lumps on his head removed, i don't think they shaved much, if any, hair off so you'd be able to cover it up with imaginative hairdos. he did look funny though, he has white hair and it bled a lot when they did it so he got some very odd looks when he walked out of the surgery having walked in looking fine :)

if worst comes to worst - think of all the pretty head scarves you can wear. :)
but good luck! & I hope they don't have to. And feel better soon. xx

I'll cross my fingers for you that they don't, but just in case they do try to look on the bright side..winter's coming up so at least it's happening now and now in the middle of summer when you can't get away with covering up so much.

Plus it would give you an excuse to hit the shops for pretty hats, scarves and hair pins!

....not that you've ever needed an excuse! ;)

Oh, I would absolutely worry about that too!

I hope the lump turns out to be harmless, and your head still hairy.

(I probably worry about that sort of thing a lot more than most other women, because we have a history of female baldness running in our family... I've decided years ago that if my hair ever gets really really thin - it's/was not bald spots with my grandmother and mother, just overall getting thinner and thinner - I will shave it all off and have a great tattoo artist tattoo my head, probably with feathers. And then I read about alopecia, and how that often is caused by stress, and then I start worrying about that.... ;-)
