Friends, good pet care, hope

I am very happy tonight that I have found some communities that interest me, I guess it took awhile for me to figure out how to get where I was interested. The people are very nice so far and I've seen alot of hope for the future of some dogs, there seem to be alot of good people out there. I am such a skeptic by nature that it makes me feel good ( Read more... )

hi!
seeing your post about tiger broke my heart.
:(
i have a few things i have to ask b4 i could even think about taking him.
how does he get along with other cats?
i have one kitty, hes about 9, pretty easygoing.
i dont think he would bother him.
i am unemployed right now & have plenty of time & love for a sad
kitty like tiger but hardly any money. i could easily afford
what little extra it would cost to feed him & buy litter but if
there were ANY vet issues (including him possibly eventually needing to be PTS), i couldnt even come close to affording it.
do you have a sister shelter down here that would be willing
to absorb those costs if the need arose?
i am in detroit btw.
:)

I am very upfront because I don't like to be lied to. I don't know how he'd be with other cats, his file says he's good with dogs but they didn't say about cats. I would imagine he'd be okay, he seems very laidback for being in a strange place. I take him up front everyday and brush him, pet him and there are cats right there. I could bring him up to the front cat room tomorrow and see how he does if you are seriously interested.

I could possibly have a vet donate a free checkup for you to see if everything was in working order on him. Our shelter barely squeaks by now with cost but I'm sure something could be done if he had to be put down. I'll check tomorrow when I go to the shelter.

that would be cool.
i cant lie either tho, anything outside of food & love is really more than i can afford
& it would be irresponsible of me to both tiger & the kitty i have now (figgy) to take
on another possible expense.

i TOTALLY understand that your shelter is doing what they can on what they have & how tough that is
& id never expect/ask for help if its not available & easy to give.
also: i am super far from you guys so that might be a factor in difficulty finding a vet to donate services, god forbid he should get sick.

HOWEVER! if it turns out someone was interested in covering vet expenses, he would have a very loving home here.
:)

How far are you from Ypsilanti? I have a friend there who wants us to come visit. Do you own a house/apartment? I don't do much with my cats, I don't vaccinate because they never go outside. I feed a top of the line catfood because I'm anal. I'll let you know more tomorrow after I see how he is with other cats. People might be willing to transport him too so we'll see.
