It's all over the news lately that New York City, in its infinite wisdom, has decided to create a new, all-gay high school. Hey...remember me? I don't know if you would like to know, but the copy I eventually got hold of was Bohm's - and I enjoyed it, although it did seem fast in places, just as the amazon.com folks said. And I prefered the maid's voice to Isolde's, and the Tristan was a little sketchy. ;D

From the day I heard about Gay High, I thought it was a cute idea and would probably seem to many as a quick and easy solution to the bigotry problem in schools. But it's not. It is exactly what you said: segregation.

It's as if saying that we could take a large, uninhabited island and ship ALL the gay people there and sort of colonize it for us and only us. And then whenever someone came out they could just move there. And it would solve the problem of hate crimes and bigotry toward the GLBT community... but it wouldn't make them go away.

Creating a system where a hated minority is segregated from society in any aspect only accentuates the fact that we are different, which is the reason for all the hatred in the first place. Integration and coexistance, in time, will show the world that we're really all human beings, no matter who we fall in love with or have sex with.

You're a very smart person and I love your political views :)

Yeah, I think it's a stupid idea. It seems like its making GLBT students some 'special' breed and putting them in their own category when the only thing different is sexuality which means 0.

hey buddy, i apreciate the things that you write in my journal, i take off the pics, because that was just a bet so.. im bisexual but any of my friends now that, so this the reasson because i write the answer here, and man my english sucks lol
