Beware, it's one of those annoying vacation re-caps

My trip to California--with pictures. (It's like those annoying slide shows people never want to watch, so I'll put it behind a

My family--plus my older brother's girlfriend--landed in San Diego on Thursday (the 12th) around noon, only to find out that my brother Joe's flight was delayed a day because of the hurricane (he was in rehab in Jamaica, for those of you who didn't know). Boo. But Joe came in safely on Friday and we did some San Diego stuff until Sunday, when we watched him graduate high school.

He was the honored graduate, and he had to give a speech and everything. He's changed so much in his year and a half in rehab, and I'm so proud of him.

We went to Tijuana all day Monday, and I scored a small blue accordian for $7, and I got a terrible sunburn. Ouch. Then we left bright and early Tuesday morning (really early...5 am early...) and drove up the coast to Monterey. The highway we were on followed the coast and went up into the mountains, where there were many vista points. My dad kept stopping at all of them, which was annoying, but we got some good pictures out of it.

We were also all highly annoyed by my two ADHD brothers who talked jibberish and wouldn't shut up the entire drive.

I sat in the back with Kasie (Mark's girlfriend), and we tried to block it out. She's basically family, they've been together about five years.

Unfortunately, that means he no longer censors himself around her, and we got to hear his constant babble and experience the terrible gas he had that day. Yuck.

We finally stopped in Monterey on Tuesday, where we stayed until Thursday. Monterey is an adorable little town, where the houses are quaint, and sell for about a million bucks. Honestly. We went on this 17 mile drive (where we took more pictures

), where the houses were fairly large and right next to the ocean. There was a real estate listing at the lodge around there, and we saw properties worth 36 million dollars. That's insane. California's fucking expensive.

Thursday, we got up early and walked around the Monterey peninsula. This walk was cut short, however, because I saw the cutest, friendliest squirrels ever.

See me feeding it? The signs told me not to, but of course I disobeyed, because who listens to signs? Well, I should have listened to the signs. A few minutes after that picture was taken, I was violently attacked. Well, okay, not really. But I did get bit. The squirrel thought my finger was a nut, and he cracked my finger nail as though it were the shell. It bled a lot, and I nearly passed out because I am a wimp. But I did laugh at his fat friend.

Then we drove up to San Francisco.

We stayed in San Francisco until Saturday, biking a lot and being cold. I'm not a huge fan of the city. My dad and I did go to what we thought was an art museum--hey, it was called the Palace of Fine Arts--but it turned out to be quite similar to COSI. It was actually kind of fun, though. Then we flew back to Columbus, and I drove down to Cinci last night. Woo.

Oh, and I bought a Beatles mug somewhere in there, but I don't remember where I bought it. That's all.
