In return, I will suggest The Restless Girls by Jessie Burton, which is a fascinating spin on The Twelve Dancing Princesses. I love fairy tales, and this one goes somewhere very different.
I really liked it. It wasn't your typical "guy comes to save the day" story at all, in fact there was no romance, which made it more interesting, because it was about the sisters and their relationships with each other.
A little teaser- after their mother the queen died, the king clamped down on their girls. No education, no fun, no nothing. He locks them in a room where they are supposed to spend the rest of their lives, seeing only the servants who come to feed them. As their desperation mounts, they suddenly discover a hidden door in the room...
It's juvenile fiction and a quick read, but has lots of great pictures. It's just very, very good. I hope the author does more children's books, as this is her first.

Cool, I just put this on my library app reading list. It looks like it's always available too, maybe bc it's a Portland library.
