You there. [That sounds appropriately imperious, right?] What are you doing there?
[He's pruning. Obviously. Teddy considers just stepping back behind the statue, but that would be beneath whatever remains of his dignity.]

[Teddy executes an abrupt about face and walks back in the direction he came from. Or at least, he thought that's what he'd done, but then what were those white flowers doing there? A moment later, he rushes back to the dancing nymph statue and is relieved to see the gardener still there.]
I suppose you must be very familiar with this maze.
