First one for it! Challenge #5. "Ano sa..." or "Hey, you know..."
Goku/Stan. Crack. And probably me butchering Stan's character. Taking place around... well, shortly after Linda came, while they're both in relatively calm terms with each other. Enjoy. :D
Just a Little Dreamer
Unusual, for it to rain in camp-somehow that had been one weather predicament that always seemed to pass over them. It was a sound Goku hadn’t heard in months, and right now, it was soothing.
Of course, he didn’t really need soothing. As strange as it was, he was (for the most part) quite content with his current situation.
Unfortunately, he couldn’t sleep. And it was probably close to midnight at this point.
He prodded the form he was half sprawled atop. “Hey.”
His companion twitched, but otherwise showed no signs of waking. He had fallen asleep a good hour or so ago. Damn him. Goku briefly wondered how to wake him without jolting his companion right out of his dreams.
All consideration left in an instant, and he jabbed an inner thigh with his knee.
“Of all the pot-bellied puffer fish-!” The form jerked into a sitting position, forcing their heads to collide. Goku yelped, but felt no pain-his companion, however, clearly did, because his bizarre outburst dissolved into a series of strong curses.
When blazing yellow eyes looked at Goku, the boy tried not to grin-the sight actually was comical. “What the hell was that for?” demanded Stan.
“I wanted t’ ask you somethin’,” said Goku.
“Couldn’t it wait until morning?”
“No,” admitted Goku.
Cross - and really, he had a right to be, after smacking his forehead into Goku’s limiter - Stan snarled, “Well, it’ll have to. I was enjoying my rest before you decided to be stupid and hit moi like that!”
“It’ll just take a second,” Goku persisted.
But Stan was already lying down again, closing his eyes as he rubbed the swelling bump above his eye. “I said no. Can’t I enjoy one night of peaceful sleep?”
Goku shifted so he was half-lying on his companion again - not his fault that the cabin beds were so small - and refused to give up. “Y’know how you sent out those nightmares?”
At the last word, Stan went still. He stopped rubbing his injury, but didn’t open his eyes. After an extensive pause, he spoke in a neutral tone that was obviously forced. “I vaguely remember some incident such as that, yes.”
It was a sensitive subject for them - mostly for Stan, since he was having a harder time adjusting to their strange relationship than Goku was - but Goku determinedly went onward. “Can you send it to just one person?”
“It’s within my capabilities,” replied Stan heavily.
Goku shifted his leg, catching Stan’s reflexive wince. Smirking, and somewhat disappointed Stan couldn’t see it, he settled again without hurting him. “What about dreams?”
When Stan opened his eyes, his expression showed his obvious surprise. He hadn’t seemed to expect that. Quickly it faded, and he scowled. “Why in Hell would I ever send a dream to someone? I was-am an Evil King, and that’s not what Evil Kings do!”
If Stan hadn’t slipped with “was,” Goku probably would have kicked him. Instead, he let it go and rested his hands on Stan’s chest, smiling. “I was wonderin’ if you could send me a dream.”
Stan frowned. “Why?”
“Can’t sleep.”
“Why in Hell should I waste magic and energy giving you a dream?”
“Because I never have those kinds of dreams on my own.”
The conversation took a pause as Stan appeared to think this over. “What kind of dream?” he asked suspiciously.
Goku lifted his hand to make a gesture. “Y’know... dreams. Th’ kind where we’d do stuff camp says we can’t.”
Extensive pause.
“You idiot!” Stan exploded, sitting up so fast Goku nearly fell off the bed. “What kind of... that sort of ridiculous... what’s wrong with you?!”
Goku stared, startled by the force of Stan’s indignant shout-before noting the slight bit of red in his companion’s face. “What’s wrong with it?”
“Everything! What isn’t wrong with it?!” Stan pulled back, though there wasn’t much room to go anywhere; a wall blocked him and Goku was in his best path of escape. “My powers aren’t to be used for such trivial things!”
“Why not?” Goku moved quickly so as not to let Stan escape, straddling his lap and tugging on his shirt. Smirking, he said, “You’re th’ one making it up, right? It’d be your best chance t’ top me.”
There was absolutely no mistaking the blush on Stan’s face. Even so, he seemed determined to act as though he wasn’t affected beyond annoyance. “We both know I would anyway.”
“I dunno, you give in pretty fast when I kiss you.”
“Well that must certainly be a dream for you,” Stan sneered, still flushed.
Goku knew his smirk was driving Stan nuts, but it was near impossible for him to stop. He had been asked before why he liked Stan-and still couldn’t quite answer that, but he could say he liked getting a rise out of him. He leaned in until his face was within an inch of Stan’s, lowering his voice until it was barely audible. “Whatever you say... master.”
What happened next was another thing Goku liked-seeing the startled pleasure on Stan’s face, right before it began to dissolve into a smirk. Goku halted any cocky response he might have had with a kiss.
And there it was-Stan’s response, threading his clawed fingers through his hair, eagerly returning the gesture. Sharp teeth bit at Goku’s lip, and he gave silent permission. It was strangely exhilarating, Stan dominating the kiss when Goku had the clear advantage. But it never failed, when he called Stan master, to pique his companion’s interest.
Which was kind of kinky, but Goku would have to kick him for it later, if only to assure Stan they were not going through the master/slave roles again.
Thunder crashed, shattering the moment. Goku jerked back in surprise. Stan didn’t object; though he had clearly been interested, he did look tired. Goku almost felt a little guilty for waking him up.
“So?” he asked.
“No,” Stan replied automatically. He sounded less angry, more satisfied; which could have been either a good or bad sign.
“Just one little dream?” Goku was aware he was practically whining. Stan also seemed aware, because he twitched.
“I said I’m not using my powers for a trivial thing like that,” his companion snapped. “Shut up and go to sleep and don’t wake me up again.”
Had Stan been more awake - and thus more fun to antagonize - Goku would have continued pressing. Instead, he settled for muttering, “Don’t tell me t’ shut up.”
“Then don’t make stupid requests,” Stan grumbled, yanking the blankets over them as he lay down again. He stiffened when Goku nestled his head on his shoulder, but voiced no complaint.
For a while the cabin was silent again. Then:
“I’ll even let you tie me up.”
Stan cursed.
