I read the Charlie Brooker column in the actual newspaper today, which apparently is a thing made of ink and pulped trees and instead of clicking hyperlinks you turn the "pages." And I thought "yes: spot on." I think that's why I prefer Brown out of the three. He seems like an actual human.
I'm ashamed to admit it but I honestly cannot remember the last time I actually bought a newspaper. I'm talking years not months, too. I used to get the Guardian on a Saturday but then stopped buying it because I hardly read any of it. I don't buy magazines often either.
Yeah. I prefer Brown. Fucking hate Cameron and I find Clegg very irritating.
I can't say how much I agree with that first author because I don't follow critical reviews of Doctor Who -- folks on the forums I frequent mostly rave, but that's to be expected -- but I did think this most recent episode was a letdown and found that Dan Martin review he linked to be pretty ridiculous. That Dalek episode from a couple of weeks ago was pure ass, too.
That first author didn't even give a critical review of the episode. He barely even mentioned it! He just went off on one giant long-winded and pompous tangent about the BBC and other writers/reviewers!
I really like the recent episode. I do agree in the sense that it's not the best ever made like the other reviewer said, but I did think it was still very good. It had some great moments, plot wise and character wise and it completely held my attention.
The Dalek episode I didn't enjoy as much as most other episodes. It did have a few enjoyable moments. The Dalek saying "Would you care for a cup of teeeeaaaaa?" Was not only brilliantly funny, but it also demonstrated just how scarily manipulative they are. Otherwise, I'm not generally impressed with the role the Daleks had. They could have made their involvement in the war a lot darker than they did.
You'll have a choice of shiny new Dalek toys soon! It lots of pretty colours. I like how the drone Daleks are red in almost in reference to Star Trek! XD
