Regarding "story bloat", there are very different story pacing needs if the story being told is a one page at a time effort (or, perhaps, a linked collection of very short stories) and a long-form epic (pick any good novel series). I think almost all of the frustration we see from readers is due to the shift from reading it in its intended final form (collections of 120 to 160 pages) to reading it one (pause) page (pause) at (even longer pause) a (pause) time.
Still, I'm really REALLY glad that Kaja and Phil have chosen to let us see it this way as well.
