“How so?” Harry asked, sitting up from his Charms essay, muscles and joints popping in succession as he stretched out his back.
“That entire Declaration of Independence thing comes out of the social contract theory by John Locke. Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is directly taken from natural law; no one has a right to harm another’s life, health, liberty, or possessions. Ironic, isn’t it?”
“What is?”
“American philosophy plagiarized from a British thinker.”
