Random compliment

Aw. Had two friends tell me that (based on my nerdily extensive vocabulary in everyday conversation) not only do I need to get a novel or a novella or a book of short stories out there, but I also need to release an audio book version read by myself, as my voice is soothing and rich. How's that for a compliment??? Man ( Read more... )

This is a fairly superficial one, but not too long ago, I'd gone into a dryclean/alterations shop to ask about prices, and as I was leaving, the woman at the counter told me that I had a very beautiful smile. It shocked me to the core, because for my whole life I've thought that I looked, well, pretty stupid when I smile. >_>; At least, photos of me smiling always come out looking weird, and my teeth are huge and kind of blotchy. Now, "beautiful" is not what I'm generally going for in my day-to-day appearance, but it was a nice thing to hear nonetheless, and really, the compliment boosted my confidence by a huge amount.

As for the actual content of this post - you should totally do a voice-post of you reading some of your fiction, or poetry, or even a normal day-to-day entry.

An old man at the grocery store told me I had a beautiful smile once, too! It made my day, because I've always been super self-conscious about my smile, but have been showing my teeth a lot more since getting braces. Random compliments are awesome!

Somebody told me that my writing style was really fun and easy to read after browsing through the sermon I wrote. They said my writing made them laugh while still getting a point across. I think I'm funny, but it's nice to hear others think so too sometimes! XD

The other day my co-worker told me that she and another co-worker of ours had a long conversation about how much they enjoy working with me. My workplace is a vicious cesspool of gossip, so it was nice to hear something like that.
