You have a lot of terrible events that destroy trust and confidence in this post

Blame those for the increase in your paranoid fears

Counselling is an idea, it may help process everything that happened

If it's not try a little self aversion therapy. Wear a rubber band or hair tie on the wrist and every time you start to notice your negative feelings, snap the band

I often get paranoid that no one likes me, then someone will slap me in the face with how they feel (like unboy offering to lend me money to get out of a jam)
It's more common than you think (or we are both weird)

I considered counseling but it would be added stress to try to schedule it. Aversion therapy is an idea.

I can understand the depression from losing your job and the question of if you'll keep this job. I can relate with trying to find a job and consistently being rejected for jobs that I have applied to.
