Thanks. I guess now that I've used the tutorial it won't really help, but thanks anyways. Maybe it'll help when I use it again in the future, lol. :D

this is awsome, but i'm kinda new to gimp and i have no idea how to do the opacity you talk about on here. any help?

No problem. In gimp, open the layers dialog. It should show several layers including your base and such. It should say layers at the top and below that Mode and below that opacity. All you have to do is adjust the number.
