For this tutorial I used Photoshop 7

#1: Choose your base, crop it and Auto Levels (Shft+Ctrl+L)

#2: Duplicate your base twince. Set the first duplicated layer to Soft Light 50% and the second to Linear Burn 50%

#3: Create a new Selective Color layer
- Reds -100/0/+100/0
- Yellows +100/0/-100/0
- Cyans +100/-100/-100/+100
- Blue +100/-100/-100/+100
- Whites +100/+25/+32/+38
- Neutrals -20/-3/-19/+19
- Blacks +100/0/0/0

#4: Create a new Selective Color layer
- Reds -9/0/+100/0
- Yellows +100/0/-100/0

#5: Create a new Hue/Saturation layer
Saturation
Yellows: +29
Cyans: +23

#6: Create a new Curves Layer
First point
INPUT 132 - OUTPUT 146
Second point
INPUT 64 - OUTPUT 90

<> This tutorial WILL NOT work well if your icon is dark.
Be sure to create new Screen Layers to make it lighter.
