There are an awful lot of reasons why I decided to go.
One of the main reasons is that I study anthropology. I applied for many universities, and while they did have it as a program, it was more along the lines of strictly cultural and just something to study without any specific practical use. The university I am attending actually caters to a more practical and realistic look at the program and thus trains and prepares people to go out into the world as an anthropologist. Furthermore, there are also a ton of opportunity out here for anthropology students, the university holds a field school of it's own to train for the archaeology aspect, whereas the universities that were around my home... didn't have anything like that. It's not so much the field that I am studying that I am interested in, but the opportunity to travel. A means to an end, if you will.
Furthermore, I feel so awesome to say to people, "yeah, I'm an international student.~~" Hahah, I'm an ass sometimes, I know. :p
