okay, okay, okay, yeah. MIA for far too long. quick update for everyone via a picture essay behind the cut...and my new year's letter will be going up soon.
Hmm...where to begin. Oh yeah, Election day! i had to spend mine in Salt Lake City for work, after having dutifully submitted my absentee ballot (which helped contribute to a finally blue Virginia! After the appropriate weeping and rejoicing at the election results, i celebrated by taking my rental car, a red mustang (sweet!) out about 80-100 miles west of Salt Lake and cranking up the speed to 100+. Here's my favorite shot from the little trip:
Then, thanksgiving. my amazing little nephew came up to see me! he's a monster--really, that's what i call him, only 19 months old and running around like a nut. i caught him in a sleepy moment, playing with the beads that his mom got for him while they were in New Orleans...
then, then, then, i performed at 12 Days with J, J, J, C, and T. i was a cowboy, and, well, i was adorable. there are probably pics out there, somewhere...if anyone has them, i'm interested. and--if anyone has access to a video of the entire performance, i'm very interested.
after the show, m and I went up to New York for our anniversary weekend. yes, holy crap, we made it a full year (as had J and i a few weeks before...). i took the boy to FAO Shwarz (okay, we didn't wait in the crazy line to get in...), the Christmas Spectacular at Radio City, then down to the Village to hang out with the queers and check out the leather shops. Here i am giving one of the little nutcrackers a kiss at Radio City (note the confused kid in the lower right-hand corner...):
and here's my super-gay boy, completely amused by the little spinny-rockette thing you could buy for $40 (or whatever)...we resisted the urge, and just took a picture:
Christmas has been full of my family of choice, warm, and wonderful. i will be putting a more permanent collar on my boy tonight. i expect we'll be moving in together in a few months, and then relocating up closer to Baltimore (hey, y'all!)--keeping my job and church connection in D.C., but getting out of the rat race down here.
what else...on a church sabbatical, done with pastoring the MCC in Fredericksburg...that will all hit another post, i figure, one of these days.
Hope everyone had a safe, and happy holidays!
