One of my all-time favorite quotations is of Edsger Dijkstra:

Computer Science is no more about computers than astronomy is about telescopes.

And in a similar vein:

The question of whether Machines Can Think is about as relevant as the question of whether Submarines Can Swim.

But now perhaps my appreciation of Dijkstra utterances has come back to bite
