I give up...how the heck /have/ you never heard of the Geographical Fugue? I learned at least some of it at Mirman. It seems as though I've been encountering it everywhere in the last couple of years, including a post-G&S sing-through at a recent music party. But I'm glad you've found it. It's definitely a song that you of all people should know.

I was presumably in China at the time...

There does not seem to be a significant difference between the fugue in English and in German, as far as I can tell. It's pretty cool in both languages.
