I'm posting this so that any other fans who've watched David Tennant's final episode can give their feelings on his time in the role as well as Russell T. Davies's run as producer. Please know that within these posts, I'm allowing for spoilers on everything so if you haven't seen the finale, please don't be angry by the commentary either under this ( Read more... )

i think she going to become mother to the new timelords. possible with a fight with the old timelords who became corrupted and gone insane. Then there appears to be a faction trying to set things right.

You guys have fun. I wonder what Archcon is like after all these years. Haven't been since '90. Hmm.

This year was the final one in IL. This year will be at WestPort, which is in my back yard, comparatively. I am looking forward to it.

WestPort? Really? Hmmmm decent area to hold a sci-fi con. Never made it to any of the Illinois cons. Then again, the hotel I used to attend Archcon at has a runway on top of it now. Gettin' homesick just thinking about it.

I liked a lot of what RTD did as a director, where he went but he had a really bad habit of leaving big plot holes by not finishing something, but then bringing things back that should have been left alone ( ... )

My OH and I, usually very different - I'm the sentimentalist and he loves action and clarity - both thought End of Time was a waste of time. The plot, IMO, was an overly referential, self-consciously clever mess, with Episode One an unduly involved buildup to a weak punchline. The long-drawn-out ending had me wondering where the end credits had gone and why whoever edited this had decided to assume the persona of a seven-year-old girl rather than a TV professional. (It's great that Russell T. Davies's reign has brought little girls into Who fandom but I didn't expect them to end up running the show.) Sarah Jane's farewell to the Doctor had real grace and charm, but Jack's and Donna's were stereotyping pure and simple - the idea that sex, or money, can compensate anyone for a sense of emptiness and loss is a trivial note on which to wrap a relationship with two great characters ( ... )

The brief appearance of Galifrey leads me to think that in this next season we will see alot of escapees from the hell on earth it was going through. I can see the Doctor running into a ship of Timelords who flew off in that short time and fighting some of those hellbeasts he described. And ofcourse, the Master is not dead. He might not be back for a few years, but you cant take Moriarty away from Holmes.

I liked Tennant's run. It gave me two of my favorite episodes of the entire series (Girl in the Fireplace and Blink), and after seeing how the new guy handled his transformation I am really interested in how he is going to play the character. I am hoping for a more Pertwee meets Baker Doctor. You know one who talks in techno babble, but has no problem throwing down in Venusian Aikido.
