The effects on the new Titans are obviously far superior to the original, but the story unfortunately isn't nearly as good. The old film took its time with setup and motivations; this one is accelerating towards the end the whole time. While it's not technically important that Calibos has a new origin story seeing as, as has been pointed out, he's not a real mythological figure (he's basically cribbed from Caliban, from The Tempest), it is important that he serve the story, and honestly, he seems only to be in the film to satisfy expectations from fans; he does almost nothing. The vague motivations on Perseus's part don't help, either. There's nothing really bad or cringe-worthy about the film, but it's a missed opportunity.

The Kraken wasn't a Greek myth, either, but who's counting?

Dude, I've got the first five volumes of Scott Pilgrim. You ever make it over here, you're welcome to borrow 'em.

I don't know all the movies coming out this year but so far, I'm looking forward to..

Date Night
Kick-Ass
Iron Man 2
Robin Hood
Shrek Forever After
The Expendables
Toy Story 3

I'm I the only one that thinks the 3-D thing is getting out of hand? This year we are going to have..

Step Up 3-D and Jackass 3-D??? WHY?

However, How To Train Your Dragon really impressed me in 3D, So far it's the one film I've seen that used 3D properly, I highly recommended seeing it in 3D.

Very much agree about 3-D. Getting to be like the 80s come to think of it. Waiting for someone to re-make Jaws 3-D or Spacehunter: Adventures in the Forbidden zone... in 3-D!
