Time for me to update my journal. (That, and another tournament has come and gone, and I need to record how I feel about it, so that, in case I forget, I can always look back and go "Hm, so that's what it was like..." Originally, I wanted to go with the idea that Akira had been training in the 'Force' all her life; a world where people can knock other people through brick walls with a single strike/cover their hands in raw energy and fire it at objects with destructive effect based on their willpower/jump two stories high with little effort--the Rival Schools world--left an easy parallel to *ALL* the people capable of doing so being Force-proficient instead of having superhuman martial arts-based traits, heh. In short, most fighting game-characters are special in that specific degree, and they're not your average person even in their source worlds. It would have been easy to make a parallel to the Force in that manner ( ... )

I don't know about the abundance of Force-sensitive characters in RT:S, at least not in the regards that we leaped and bounded above the normal progression of the canon. Drizzt spoke to Revan telepathically because Revan initiated the contact, and outside of Drizzt's own mind, he didn't use a single Force power--just the natural powers he had as a grossly agile drow elf ( ... )

Kyo: Akira's interaction wasn't too worrisome for me, for the reasons that you pointed out. (I didn't realize that she had ki-like powers, until I read through the description again, for example...) And... I agree, if we had had more time to actually write the interaction, it would have made much more sense, methinks. Ah, the horrors of RT timing ( ... )
