The Full Monty
You're probobly wondering 'what the frill are you talking about.' In fact you always wonder that when I'm speaking. Thus, I shall explain.
About a week ago, I did a dumb thing. I set my laptop on a counter, but did not push it far enough back. It was open and running at the time. It fell in the classic 'toast' style: screen facing the ground.
If you are unfamiliar with Mac laptops, they cannot open to 180 degrees; they go to about 135. When my laptop fell, it was trying to go much farther than that. The screen did not snap, but it (or the hinge) must have been warped enough to make it unuable.
The laptop is still able to boot and run; however, the screen now has 3 distinct regions. The top 3rd is fine. The middle 3rd is one single hue, and likes to shift from one to another. The bottom 3rd is the bottom-most pixel of the 1st 3rd stretched to the bottom of the screen. In essence, the laptop was now headless, and therefore useless.
I had been saving for a new computer anyway, but was a month or two off from having a pleasent buffer. I cannot go without a computer for a few months, however. Not just for gaming, but for work as well. I sucked it up, asked for a loan from Mom (thanks!), and bought a new computer.
After a week of boredom and random bouts of weeping, my new computer arrived. Let us compare, shall we?

Those are the basics. Putting it to use, in World of Warcraft, on the iBook I had most of the settings on minimum, the rest on medium, and I would still chug at times. On the new Pro, I've got most of the settings on maximum, the rest on medium, and I do not chug. It looks beautiful. Safari doesn't even bounce to launch now. The colors are richer due to the richer screen, and the back-light keyboard is just plain cool. I have an iSight camera installed, so if I want to pod-cast, I can. Finally, all this is lighter than the iBook was.
Yeah, this computer is the new Hotness.
In Other News: Revenge is sweet. That Warlock ganked me 3 times, each time waiting till I was distracted. I got the opportunity to wait until he was bandaged up, then snuck in on cat and reamed him. It felt good.
