Why I'm so upset

My Cat died. My childhood cat Baghira is dead. I told my Dad I'd take him after he was attacked by a hawk or whatever. But he said he'd take care of him. Then he let him back out into the wild, and now he's dead. If I had taken him, he'd br alive. I know that a cat is not a father or a brother or anything really. But I could have saved him
