Lame Lame Lame...

Well, it has now been over a month since my automobile accident and I am still having trouble with my right arm and shoulder. It is bumming me out like I can't even begin to describe. I have so many projects to complete and just can't seem to get anything done with my arm like it is. Of course I hate making excuses for things not getting done ( Read more... )

Oh dear sir I am so sorry to hear that you have been injured. Auto accident injuries are the total suck! I ditto the suggestion that you make haste slowly and let yourself heal, however frustrating that sounds. Shoulders are astonishingly delicate things in some ways. When you are feeling better, enameling here at Acorn Cottage is always an option

Coming from a recent car accident (we rolled - twice) here is what i've learned. Being frustrated only makes the healing slower. It takes AT LEAST 6-8 weeks to show significant signs of healing. It sucks that we can't do our projects!!

Hang in there!!

How did you get rid of the droopy butt? My husband kinda like it droopy, but some others don't.

Well, The thorsberg pants can be really tricky to work out. I took and old pair of jeans that fit me fairly snugly and drew in where I wanted the seams to end up on the finished pair of pants based on the examples I could find in various texts and online. I cut them out added seam allowances and narrowed the legs of the first pattern. I make initial garments using old sheets. Everild said she can find old ones at places like Goodwill for like a dollar. Which is way cheaper than the cheapest cotton stuff in the fabric stores ( ... )

Oddly enough, I was going to try to make the pattern exactly the way you describe! Now I know it will work. My husband likes the baggy back-end, so I'll leave his pattern as is.

I've made a pair with the footies, they are really warm. I'm sure if the wool was felled, it wouldn't ravel, so probably why they didn't finish them. Another thought is that they went though the belt loops often, thus why bother! Just my thoughts on the unfinished belt loops.

I have a sample on my table top loom, warped for broken lozenge twill. Now to find time to actually weave it. Once I know I have it warped properly, I can move on to yardages. :0)
