Goa'uld and Stargate Suggestions

Ok everyone. This post is to begin to brainstorm ideas for upcoming SGC games. So far the Goa'uld game has been going well, but people keep forgeting to vote. This leads to the game being a little one sided in favor of the Goa'uld, as they are always voting as a group and having a majority by default ( Read more... )

Since you probably don't know this...

You can't post using filters to communities. So you couldn't make a post just for the goa'uld or just for the MO.

On the getting people to vote front, I propose that you change the deadlines. Not for this game, but for the next one. People frequently aren't around on the weekends. I would recommend a schedule like this:
New Day: Tuesday.
Voting: by Friday night.
Goa'uld and MO decisions by: Monday night.

Also I still think you need to post in bold letters the voting deadline and have a link in the discussion post to the voting post.

When I do all my Buffy Trivia and etc, I use a form post and then I change whatever information needs to be changed. You have your flash drive on you at all times, you should do that.

*hugs* *kisses*

Since making an actual community journal won't work he could just make a secondary "personal" journal to use only for the game. That should work with no real problems because more than likely he'd be the only one actually posting to the community anyway.

Alright, something that bothers me are the people that don't say anything in the discussion. Now I don't know if these people are still casting their votes or if they're just gone completely but could we find some way to force participation in the discussions? Something like a two or three comment requirement before your vote can count?

I find it rather difficult to find something to talk about. Wouldn't it be nice and role-playing game like if everyone of us had to fill out some sort of character form where we state who we are and what the heck we are doing at the SGC? It'd help me to actually start a conversation with someone. And I'm really at a loss when it comes to deciding who's innocent and who's not. Not that a character form would help with that, but it'd give us stuff to talk about and then the Goa'uld might get sloppy or something. Just my two cents.

Oh, and for the record: I'm very fond of role-playing games. So if you decide to go for it I'm in. And like I said in my previous post, character sheets could be useful because then you'd actually have stuff to talk about (I'm not very good at this unless there's some sort of character history/background I can cling to). If you venture into slightly more role-playing-like terrain it'd certainly be more fun because you maybe have to work together at first, solve a couple of problems, grow closer together and then, bam!, something bad happens and all of a sudden, you can't trust anyone any more. Just a thought. :)

Oi!

I'm planning on making that Warstore order soon. So if you'd like me to order something for you, point to it and let me know how many you'd like.
