Kings of Leon are fucking terrible now. and it's not because the songs are bad, it's because they are self consciously trying to imitate the shitlicking garbage nearly every station on the 101 band plays. it's a competent band parodying itself.

case in point: when bat for lashes sings it, it sounds classic. when they sing it, it sounds awful.

yeah, i miss that nasaly whiney blood curtailing screeaching lisp. It was a good rock voice.

I am concered about double standards. i said the same thing (Mimicking shitlick garbage) about The Hold Steady when they moved to Vagrant and Craig Finn stated taking voice lessons (around the time of Boys and Girls in America, adding a bunch of whooa oohs and the like. Now they're more acclaimed than ever. Don't get me wrong, what THS is doing now is probably the top of the pickens, but is is objectively good?

i can jive with that. i really can. It's kinda hard to appreciate a Casio Keyboard after the Tungsten Mylar Blend made women's pants melt right off their bodies with their hit "Applesaucestache."
